John R. "Jack" Trnovec, 88, of Harvard, IL, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021. An Air Force Veteran, Jack began piloting airplanes in 1953 at Kinston, North Carolina while enlisted in the Air Force and served in the Korean War. While enlisted he flew planes PA-18, T-6, T-28, T-33, B-25, B-26, C-47, C-54, C-119, C-124, and H-19. He was hired by American Airlines in 1959 based out of Midway Airport where he flew planes CV240, CV990, DC6, DC7, L188, BAC111, B727, B720, B707, and DC10. His approxamate flight time was 22,500 hours. Beloved father of Debra (Greg Carlson) Trnovec Carlson, Sondra (Tony Karman) Trnovec Karman, Audra (Bud Edwards) Trnovec, and Laura (Neil Tuttle) Trnovec Tuttle; proud grandfather of Kali Carlson, Colton Carlson, and Kenzie Carlson.
