John Torres Sr, 64 of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in Geneva, IL. Born March 1, 1957 in Chicago. John was incredibly handy and could fix anything. He loved to travel and entertain guest but his biggest passion was always his family, especially his grandkids. Beloved husband of 43 years to Sonia; loving father of Jennifer (Carlos) Bernal and twins John Jr (Alma) and Joanna Torres; Cherished grandfather of Adrian, Javier and one on the way; dear son of Lillian (Ortiz) and the late Juan Torres; kind brother of Vilma, Edgar, Tony, Elizabeth, Lydia, Johnny; proud uncle to many nieces and nephews and beloved brother-in-law. Visitation 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd (at Stearns Rd), Bartlett. Funeral Monday 11:00a.m. at the funeral home. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
