It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John A. Tenuto, a beloved partner, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. John passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10th, 2026, at the age of 82.
Born on Thursday, July 1st, 1943, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, John developed a strong connection to his hometown, a bond that would shape his life in countless ways. He later established his home in Hoffman Estates, IL, where he became a cherished member of the community.
John had a fulfilling career and was a proud, long-time member of the Teamsters, where he made many lasting friendships and contributions.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted partner, Francine Richter, and his two sons, John A. Jr. (Jennifer) and Steve B. (Molly). An adored grandfather, John was blessed with the joy of seeing his family grow, with grandchildren Matthew (Lauren), Samuel (Kandra), Emily, Stephanie, Skyler, and Madalynn. His legacy further extends to his cherished great-grandchildren, Brooke, Antwon, Tessa, and James.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria B. (nee: Brandt), and his parents, John F. and Rosemary Tenuto, who all undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.
A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be held at a later date, with arrangements being handled by Countryside Funeral Homes & Crematory in Streamwood. The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
John's warmth, wisdom, and vigor for life touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
