John Szul

Visitation for John W. Szul, resident of Bartlett for 20 years, formerly of Chicago will be held Friday, January 17, 2014, 3:00 - 9:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.)in Bartlett. Funeral Saturday 9:15a.m. to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Carol Stream. Mass 10:00a.m. Interment St. Michael the Archangel, Palatine.

Born June 25, 1922 in Chicago, John died Thursday January 9, 2014.

A WWII Army Veteran in the Medical Corps, John was a longtime employee of Pfizer both in Chicago and Hoffman Estates. Former usher and member of The Holy Name Society at St. Priscilla Church, Chicago.

He is the beloved husband of Shirley M. nee Lackowski; loving father of Gregory (Catherine), Kenneth (Deborah),Dale (Mary) and Geralyn (Paul) Toth; cherished grandfather of Jennifer (Ryan) Lipumano, Cpt. Jonathan Szul USAF, Caroline (1st. Lt. Matthew USAF) McGrath, Dale Jr., Steven and Kevin Szul, Sarah, Elizabeth and Rachel Toth; proud great- grandfather of Ellie and Benjamin McGrath; dear brother of Elenore (the late Steve) Odahowski and the late William (Josephine); many loving nieces and nephews.
