John A. "Papa" Strupeck, 74, of Carol Stream, died August 11, 2023. John was the beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Doman) for 53 years; loving father of Michael (Allison) and Jennifer (Jason) James; proud papa of Brandon, Alexis and Nathan; dear brother of Marilyn "Midge", Joseph, Margaret "Peggy", Susan, Mary and Joan. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
John loved his family and was known as papa by not only his grandchildren but many others. He was very active in his grandchildren’s lives and was often found in a gym or on a field watching them play. He took much joy in watching them compete.
John was a basketball referee and an avid reader. He enjoyed reading, traveling and playing golf. One of his favorite places to travel to was Marco Island . John was very active and participated in triathlons, loved swimming and riding his bike.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society https://givenow.lls.org/ would be appreciated.
