John Nowak, 68, of Schaumburg, IL passed away on May 17, 2024. John was born on December 9, 1955 in Chicago, IL to Antoni and Adeline Nowak. John celebrated 28 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Jolanta Nowak (Rolska). He is the loving brother of Michael and the late Richard; brother-in-law of Monika (Rajmund) Rolska-Liebe; cherished uncle of Damian and Piotr Liebe and uncle and Godfather to Michal Liebe. He greatly valued his lifelong friendships with Mike and Paula Pantone, John and Suzanne Hlotke, Mike and Cheryl Osifcin, Mike and Wilma O’Neill, Larry and Rhonda Brenza, Emil and Cornelia Schwartz, John and Helen Rosinski, Darek and Gosia Ciechanowiecki, and so many more.
John enjoyed travelling throughout his life, and met Jola during a visit to Będzin Castle in Poland. She was impressed by his gentlemanly demeanor and confidence, and they kept in touch through handwritten letters and phone calls. A couple of years later (after another visit to Poland and a lot of paperwork), Jola moved to America and they were wed.
John greatly valued details and precision in his career as Chief Draftsman in charge of engineering for Johnson Fireproof Door Company. He spent many hours on intricate architectural drawings. He also loved working on and tinkering with his cars and motorcycle. John pursued many other passions throughout his life: he enjoyed scuba diving in the Bahamas, Tahiti, French Polynesia, and the Florida Keys, flying planes at the local airport, studying World War I and II history, and playing the piano. His sense of humor and kind heart will be missed by his family and friends.
