Loving father of John Robert and Catherine Rose Matz
Cherished son of the late John and the late Joan Matz nee Dunlap
Dear brother of Linda (Joe) Thompson, Mary (Richard Peterson) Matz, Charles, Robert, James (Sarah) Matz, Katherine (Todd) Lavieri and Joanne (Lee) Noren.
John was a 23 year employee of Motorola and an independent consultant with J.E. Matz and Assoc. He served as Choir Director at St. Ansgar Catholic Church for 22 years, was a HAM radio operator for 46 years as KB9II, was founding member of the “Far Out” repeater club and also a member of the Northwest Suburban Concert band.
Visitation Sunday 3:00 – 9:00 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd (at Barrington Rd) Streamwood/Schaumburg. Funeral Monday 11:15 am to St. Ansgar Church. Mass 12:00 Noon. Interment to be determined.
