John Charles Malec, 65, of Bartlett. Beloved husband of 46 years to Marilyn (nee Blasco); loving father of Rosie (Dan) Mastropieri and Joanne (Jason) Kreuscher; cherished grandfather of Anthony John, Danny, Christian, Joey, Nico and Ava; dear son of the late John and Frances (nee Michna-Tobaka) and brother of the late Robert (Patricia); caring brother in law of Anna Marie (the late Pat) Dwyer, Dominic (Terri) Blasco, Joanne (Bill) Diehl, Theresa (Gary) Capra, and the late Angelica (Ken) Ludvigsen and Norman (Susan) Blasco; fond uncle to many nieces and nephews and proud owner of Herbie. John was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard, a Chicago Police officer for 26 years, being a member of the Chicago Gear Heads. John’s proudest accomplishment was his family. Visitation 3:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd (at Stearns Rd), Bartlett.
