John Koulis

John J. Koulis, 78 years of age of South Elgin, IL passed away peacefully in the Lord on April 11, 2017 in his home in South Elgin. He was born on November 8, 1938 in Kandalos, Tripolis Greece the son of James and Angeliki Koulis (Kyriakoulis).

John was one of the proud owners of the Manor Restaurants along with his brothers Bill and George Koulis. He was an honored member of the United States Army for 5 years. He will be deeply missed by his family and countless friends he made through the years.

He is survived by his wife Christina Koulis (Prasopoulos) who he shared 50 wonderful years of marriage, his son James Koulis and three daughters, Angie Mougros, Terri Tsavaris and Helen Kasimatis; his brother George (Stella), sister Christine Alemis; 11 grandchildren John, Demi, Yianni, Christos, Michael, Stefano, Yianni, Chrissy, Dora, Rena and Christina; great-grandchild Rowen; many other loved family members, cousins, nieces and nephews both in the United States and in Greece.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Aggeliki, sisters Helen, Sylvia, and brother William Koulis. Funeral services will be April 13, 2017 at 11:30am at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox church, 625 Church Road, Elgin, IL with Father Andrew Karamitos officiating.
