It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John G. Jazwiec, who departed this life on Monday, February 23, 2026. Born on Wednesday, October 15, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, John lived a full and joyful life of 95 years. Residing in Bartlett, IL, John touched the hearts of those around him with his warmth, humor, and vibrant spirit.
John was a devoted family man, survived by his loving children John (Julie) Jazwiec, Glenn (Erin) Jazwiec, Kerry (Tom) Kopera, and Janet Jazwiec. He was the cherished grandfather of Adam, Amy (Jacob), Elizabeth (Johnny), Marcus, Eleanor, Lincoln, Jennifer (Lucas), Matt, Morgan, and Abbey, and he enjoyed being a great-grandfather to Adeline, Jackson, Lincoln and Emma. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife Magdaline Jazwiec, and his parents John and Helen Jazwiec.
John's life was enriched by his fervent passion for sports. An avid supporter of the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs, he delighted in cheering on his teams. John was an athlete in his youth, actively participating in track and baseball, and he carried this love for sports throughout his life, especially when coaching his son's little league teams. His family remembers him as a dedicated son, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who took immense pride in his family's achievements and delighted in their company.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm. at Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory, 950 S. Bartlett Rd. Bartlett, IL. Prayers will be held on the following morning, Friday, February 27, 2026 at 9:30 am at the funeral home and we will then process to St. Thomas Becket Catholic Church, 1321 N Burning Bush Ln, Mount Prospect, IL, for John's Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine, IL.
John's legacy of love, laughter, and sportsmanship will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be dearly missed by all, but his memory will forever remain in our hearts.
