John Jackson

September 20, 1962 — April 26, 2022

John G. “Blood” Jackson of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on April 26th, 2022, from a brain tumor at the way too young age of 59, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born to the late Mary Bailey-Hughes and late Allen Jackson, raised by Mary Bailey-Hughes and James Hughes, he has left behind, his middle school sweet-heart, Linda “Swwweeetie” Jackson, eldest daughter Rachel “Bucky” Jackson, youngest daughter/gambling partner, Sarah “Scrump” “Scrumpy” Jackson and husband Chad Halper, grandson T.J “pumpkin-head” Powell. A beloved brother of Fred Jackson (Sue Jackson), the late Michael Jackson, the Late Bobby Hughes and Debbie Hughes Bo Hughes (Tina Hughes), Lisa Bezak (Brian Bezak), Patty Hughes, Donna Snyder (Larry Snyder), Tina Hughes (Tony Beasley), Sandra Halper (Bobby Halper), and Susie Hughes; uncle to many nieces and nephews, a beloved cousin, and most dearest friend to so many more.
Blood was a dedicated truck driver and very successful “pharmacist” for most of his life. When he wasn’t spending time with his family, he was at the craps table or riding his Harley… or eating. Or riding his Harley, to the craps table and then asking for free food after he lost. And boy did he lose… A LOT. Blood was a loving father and grandfather and doting husband who would do anything for his family, especially his wife, Linda, that was “his precious”. Blood always had a smile on his face and money on his mind; he mastered the art of hustling, nun chucks, Frisbee and shining shoes and was the best damn father two girls and a little homeless boy he took in, Bobo, could have asked for. To his friends and family, Blood would be remembered as the type of guy who would bail you out of jail if you needed it and they needed it… A LOT, the type of guy to make everyone laugh at the party and the type of MAN who took care of his family. He will be dearly missed and forever loved.
If you would like to come pay your respects and remember Blood in the best sort of way, wake & dice game will be held at Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory, 333 S. Roselle Rd.
