After a long 10-year battle with a chronic progressive disease, John D. Giuliano passed away in his home on February 15, 2026.
John grew up in Chicago with his mother and father, Mary and Frank Giuliano. He graduated from Maine South High School and proudly served in the United States Army. Following his military service, he built a long career working at the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago for 27 years until his retirement.
John was known for his love of baseball and bowling. His passion for sports carried over into his time coaching, where he spent countless hours supporting and encouraging the young athletes in his life and teaching lessons that extended far beyond the field. He was grateful to see the Chicago Cubs win the World Series in his lifetime and proudly bowled two perfect 300 games. Above all, his greatest pride and joy were his seven grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Frank (Mary) Giuliano; his brother Frank (Kathleen) Giuliano; his parents-in-law Frank (Irene) Bem; and his brother-in-law Edward Bem. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Vicky Giuliano; his children Maria (Scott) Fon, and Frank (Stacy) Giuliano; his seven grandchildren Tristyn, Caitlyn, John, Matthew, Isabella, Allison, and Madilyn; his eight nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass with be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, at St. Laurence Church, 225 Jewett St., Elgin, IL 60123. A celebration of life will be held after the Funeral Mass (receive details at mass.) A private burial will take place at a later date.
