John Michael Allain, 66, of Hanover Park, Illinois for over 40 years, passed away September 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. John was truly one of a kind. An old soul, he loved The Three Stooges, Looney Tunes, John Wayne, trucks, trains, cars, old movies and music, and, of course, Lawrence Welk. John had an incredible memory for names, birthdays and family connections, and he never met a stranger. Meet him once and you were a friend; before long, you were family. John spent 25 years at Dominick’s and another 12 at Jewel-Osco. He loved his family, rarely missed his nieces’ and nephews’ ball games, and gave hugs no one will ever forget. John was preceded in death by his beloved father, Ed. We can only imagine the tremendous hug waiting for him. Ed has his wingman back at his side. John leaves behind countless memories, laughter and a family who loved him dearly. Rest easy, John. You were one of a kind and will never be forgotten. And, for heaven’s sake, don’t forget Lawrence Welk.
Cherished son of Betty (nee Feltz) and the late Edward Allain; dear brother of Kathy Allain, Jim (Mary) Allain, and Ron (Carol) Allain; proud uncle of Kelly (Austin) VanBuren, Kristi (Conner) Kaumeyer, Ryan Allain, Zachary Allain, and Kiana Allain.
