Johanna Ellis
August 31, 1932 — March 31, 2024
Johanna Ellis was received by her Lord at the age of 91 on Easter Sunday March 31, 2024. Johanna died peacefully in her sleep at her Medinah Road home.
She had profound love and devotion for the word of God. She became a dedicated disciple of prayer and intercession, spending her life answering the call of God to pray for the needs of others. Her loyalty to the assignments the Lord gave her transformed the lives of many.
Johanna’s parents Christ and Dina, immigrated from the small mountain village of Kapsia, Greece. After entering America through Ellis Island, they made their home in Chicago, Illinois.
Johanna formed a very strong identity around her Greek Heritage. She loved traveling to Greece, building her sense of self and exploring her culture and lineage.
Johanna had a deep appreciation and lifelong love for art and music.
As a young girl she was awarded a lifetime membership to the Art Institute of Chicago where she spent a great part of her life studying. She later attended Elmhurst College graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art.
Johanna was blessed with an ambition that became the catalyst for a successful career in real estate sales and investments. With her keen sense and God’s anointing, she developed land investment partnerships contributing to the growth of her surrounding suburbs.
“
She considers a field and buys it… and sees that her gain is good.” (Proverbs 31:16,18)
Johanna later moved to the Florida sunshine continuing to buy and sell real estate investments. She cherished her Florida life, enjoying sandy beaches, watching dolphins and taking in the glorious sunsets.
Family lit up her life and filled her heart with undying love and devotion until the day the Lord took her home.
Johanna is the loving mother of Kelly Kleamenakis and the late Thomas Klement; proud grandmother of Christopher Felcan and Jacquelyn (Ben Brittain) Felcan; dear sister of the late Nicholas Ellis and Katherine Saxe.
