Joan Phillips

November 21, 1950 — April 5, 2025

Joan Phillips, 74, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born November 21, 1950, in Loppersum, Netherlands and grew up in Chicago. Joan was proud of her Dutch heritage. She enjoyed the Beatles, entertaining, and nurturing her biggest passion: family. Joan was a dedicated and friendly face in the Library of Schaumburg High School for 18 years.

Beloved wife of 42 years to John "Jack"; loving mom of Melissa (Roy) Calvert; cherished grandma of William and Vera Calvert; dear daughter of the late Alice and John Plisic; kind sister of Mike (Diane), Bob (the late Debbie), Joe, Bruce and the late Lisa Marie; aunt to countless nieces and nephews and sister-in-law, cousin, and friend to many. Joan gifted her body to science.

A memorial visitation will be from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 S Greenmeadows Blvd, Streamwood, on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Visitation will continue on Monday, April 14 at 9:30am until time of Mass 10:30am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 W Palatine Rd, Inverness.
