Jerry John Slowen, 75, of Bartlett, IL, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 24, 2022.
 
 Jerry was born in Chicago, IL to John and Mary Slowen on March 6, 1947.  Jerry grew up in Norridge, IL and graduated from Ridgewood High School. He then attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL, earning his bachelor’s degree in accounting and later served his country with the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War.
 
 Jerry married Barbara Hulka in 1974 and together they raised their two children and in later years, were blessed with four grandchildren.  Together they enjoyed family vacations, camping and fishing throughout the country, while also enjoying small cafes and roadside diner cuisine.
 
 Jerry was employed with Farmers Insurance Group, where he served as a supervisor overseeing five states’ operations.
 
 Jerry is preceded in death by his father, John, his mother, Mary, and his brother-in-law, Kevin.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara, and their two children, Matthew and Kelly.  Jerry is additionally survived by his sister, Judy, his in-laws Judy, Carol, and Leo, daughter-in-law, Michele, son-in-law, Tom, and grandchildren, Jacob, Isabella, Henry, and Samantha.
 
 A memorial visitation  will be held at Countryside Funeral Home  950 South Bartlett Rd., Bartlett, IL on July 31, 2022 from 3:00pm-8:00pm.  Funeral Mass Monday August 1, 2022,  10:00am  at Resurrection Catholic Church, 30W350 Army Trail Rd., Wayne, IL    MEET AT CHURCH.
