Jean Louise (Hansing) Meyer passed away on Friday, January 26th in Elgin at the age of 83. She was born June 30, 1934 in Ontarioville, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur and Mildred Hansing. She grew up with six brothers and three sisters. Jean had been a resident of the Ontarioville and Bartlett area all of her life and was a graduate of Barrington High School, Class of 1952. Jean had been employed by United Pacific Insurance Co. and Motorola. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. She was also a past member of the Elgin Woman’s Club, Bartlett Woman’s Club and Motorola Retirees Club. Jean was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church all her life and was active in various organizations such as the Ladies Aid, Deborah Circle, Couples Club and served as a Sunday School teacher. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, LaVerne H. (Mike) Meyer, whom she married on October 24, 1953, two daughters, Debra (Jim) Robar of Sycamore and Sandra (Jeff) Rice of Algonquin, and a son, Gary (Holly) Meyer of St. Charles. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Kelly Robar, Kari Cieslak, Noah and Hayley Meyer and four great-grandchildren; Payton, A.J., Cash and Hank. Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 3rd, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1116 E. Devon Avenue, Bartlett, the Reverend Bauman officiating. Burial will be at the Bartlett Cemetery, Bartlett. Visitation will be Friday, February 2nd, 2018 from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Countryside Funeral Home, 950 South Bartlett Rd (at Stearns Rd), Bartlett and from 10:00 until the time of service at the church on Saturday.
