Jean Frances Comstock was born on May 18, 1929 to Mr. & Mrs. Charles Comstock of Byron, Illinois She was the 9th of 10 children. The graduated from Byron High School on June 8, 1948.

In 1947 through 1948, she and her younger sister, Dora (Comstock) Betz of Leaf River, Illinois served as volunteers with the U.S.O. While on tour, she met an Army Air Corp Corporal named William Jay Keen. They dated and on June 27, 1948 they were married in Byron, Illinois. In August of 1948, she followed her husband to Albany, Georgia. In June of 1949, the couple was blessed with a son, John Reed. After her husband's discharge from the service later in 1949, they decided to head West to Portland, Oregon. In August of 1950, they were again blessed with another son named William Allen. Husband, William, decided to go to college under the G.I. Bill. While Jean was caring to two sons, William applied for a job with United Airlines. So in 1952 the job offer came through. However, the job was in Seattle, Washington. So they packed up and headed for Seattle with 2 sons in the back seat. Jean maintained the family while hubby was working. In December of 1953, Jean became pregnant for the third time. This time it was a daughter named Debbie Jeanine in August 1954. Jean continued to raise 3 children while hubby worked. During this time, the couple discussed various career advancements. So in 1960 a career change to Denver, Colorado. Jean and the family had just got settled into another routine when word has it that the entire department was going to be relocating to the corporate headquarters in Chicago, Illinois in June of 1962. In April of 1964, Jean also was hired into United Airlines as a mail room clerk at the corporate headquarters. She remained at that position until September of 1967 when she transferred to Inter-Line Accounting Department. In December of 1986 tragedy struck when her husband died at the age of 59. She remained in the accounting department until her retirement in April, 1994.

Jeans' entire life was dedicated to her family. Along the way, she enjoyed the friendship of her friends. She, also, enjoyed shopping, and music. In later life, she enjoyed world travel and ocean cruises.

She is survived by 2 sons, 1 daughter, 4 grand-children, 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews and 1 younger sister.
