Jayarama Kolluru Naidu

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, physician, and friend.

Dr. Jayarama Kolluru Naidu, 82 of South Barrington, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2026. He was a man whose presence brought comfort, wisdom, and kindness to those around him.

He was born in Palasamudram, India and moved to Chicago to pursue psychiatric residency at Cook County Hospital after graduating from Kurnool Medical School. His early career was spent at University of Illinois at Chicago. He later served as Medical Director at Lutheran Social Services of Illinois and built a robust private practice in Elgin.

In retirement, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren and took great pride in watching them grow. He was known for his generosity and was a calm and trusted advisor to many family, friends, and colleagues. He had a rare ability to make people feel heard and understood.

He is survived by his wife, Mohanakumari Naidu, brother Krishna Kolluru Naidu, brother-in-law, Damodar Ethamukkala, daughter Geeta Taylor and son-in-law Jon Taylor, daughter Gayatri Baker, and son-in-law Joe Baker, six grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

He leaves behind a legacy of compassion that will continue through the many people he helped throughout his life. He was deeply loved, greatly respected, and will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday September 13, 2026 at 10 am at Countryside Funeral Home, 950 S Bartlett Road, Bartlett Illinois, 60103
