Jay T. Cook, a devoted father, husband, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 28th, 2024, at the age of 54. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Born on February 9, 1970, in Anacortes, Washington, to Logan and Sandra Cook, Jay was a man of integrity, warmth, and kindness who touched the lives of everyone he met. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Jay served his country with honor during the Gulf War. Following his military service, he dedicated the last 30 years of his career to FedEx as a highly skilled aircraft technician.
Jay is survived by his Father, Logan, loving wife, Jennifer, and their two children, Jessica and Joshua. He was also the devoted father of his eldest son, Jeremy.
Jay will be deeply missed by his siblings: Darren (Jodi), John (Missy), Melissa, and Jason (Grace). He is preceded in death by his mother, Sandra, and his brother, Dave. Jay is also lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Hannah, Anna, Caitlin, Eric, Shelby, Kaleigh, and Conor.
Jay’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, and dedication. He was known for his sense of humor, unwavering work ethic, and commitment to his family. His passions included attending his children’s sporting events, spending time with family and friends, grilling, and riding his bike. Jay brought joy to everyone who knew him.
A celebration of Jay’s life will be held on January 10, 2025 between the hours of 3 and 7pm with a ceremony from 7-8pm at Countryside Funeral Home 950 South Bartlett Rd (at Stearns Road), Bartlett IL, 60103. Family and friends are invited to honor his memory and share stories of his remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Jessica and Joshua’s college fund.
Jay’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and generosity, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
