Memorial Visitation for Jasper Rylan Sherman, 3, will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at the Countryside Funeral Home, 950 S Bartlett Rd., Bartlett. A mass will be held on Friday, March 6 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier, 124 N Spring St., LaGrange.
Born Sept. 1, 2005 in Elk Grove Village, set free this Ash Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, after a vigilant battle with a neurodegenerative mitochondrial disease, this little messenger of God peacefully took his last breath surrounded by many family, friends and lots of love at a benefit in his honor.
Jasper was a child with an infectious smile, a contagious giggle, and beautiful blue eyes that captured your soul. Jasper touched so many lives in his three years. With each challenge, he found much strength. His determination lengthened his every being.
Jasper was a precious gift given to his loving parents, Russell and Jeanne (Miga) Sherman, and shared with by his two brothers, Riley and Jarek, maternal great-grandma, Lottie Merczak, maternal grandparents, John and Renee Miga, paternal grandparents, David and Rosemary Sherman, thirteen aunts and uncles, and seven cousins.
