Janis Beth Lowy Mullin, 72, of Highland Park, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 8. She was an Attorney at Law, a CPA, a businesswoman, and an alumni of Niles North High School and Northwestern University.
An honorary regent of the North Shore Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Janis joined the NSDAR in 2006 and served as chapter regent from 2013-2016. She personally donated numerous books of historical value to both state and national libraries. The book she nominated in 2017 received Book of the Year award at the DAR Congress. She was one of a small number of DAR members who had completed the most advanced course for DAR leadership.
Janis's other passion was bulldogs. She served as President of the Chicago Bulldog Club throughout the 2000's until her death. She was known nationally in the bulldog world, finishing 7 champions, breeding the breed, and gathering extensive information on the history of the bulldog breed. She will be fondly remembered for the unique bulldog trophies she made year after year at the Chicago Bulldog Club's specialty shows, in addition to the incredible art she created inspired by her love of bulldogs.
