Jan Banach

September 1, 1960 — April 28, 2025

Jan Banach, 64, of Bartlett died April 28, 2025. Jan was the beloved husband of Ewa Banach (nee Kosiek); loving father of Ewelina Menel, Damian Banach, Adrian Banach, Malgorzata Koscielniak and Karolina Banach; proud grandfather of Aleksandra, Kacper, Mila, Oliver, Damian and Dominik; cherished son of Stanislawa and the late Jozef Banach.

Jan had a deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors. He found peace in the stillness of early mornings spent fishing and the quiet thrill of hunting for wild mushrooms in the woods. His favorite place was always Wisconsin, where he spent countless cherished days surrounded by lakes, forests, and the people he loved most.

Jan lived life with quiet strength and a gentle heart. He was a man who found joy not in material things, but in meaningful moments—sharing a story around the campfire, a fresh catch from the lake, or a walk through the woods in search of mushrooms.

Visitation Monday May 5, 3:00pm - 9:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Road (at Stearns Road) Bartlett. Funeral Tuesday 9:15am to St. John the Evangelist Church, Mass 10:00am. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Jan’s memory by spending a quiet moment in nature, casting a line into the water, or walking a wooded trail—just as he would have done.
