James “Jim” H. Stone Sr, 86, of Lake Villa, died Friday, January 20, 2012. Born January 10, 1926 in Granite City, IL. He was the son of John and
Louisa E.(nee Jones). A veteran of WWII having served in the Navy, Jim was a lifetime member of VFW Post #8385 and part of the Military Order of Cootie. He was also a member and steward of Mechanics Local 701, all of which he was very proud of. He was very active at Hanover Township Senior Center and enjoyed spending time with family.
Beloved husband to the late Norma (nee Lischmann); loving father to Donna M Marston of Kirkland, Sharon L Katich of Hampshire, James H. (Elizabeth) Jr of Streamwood, Bruce K. (Mary) Sr of Poplar Grove, Deborah K (Steve) Wyman of Kingsland, Ga, Tammy A. (Mike) Atkinson of Lake Villa and the late Jeffrey A; Cherished grandfather, great-grandfather and great great-grandfather to 56.
Visitation Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 3:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd (at Barrington Rd), Streamwood. Funeral Wednesday 11:00am.m at the funeral home. Interment Windridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
