James "Jim" Mahoney

James F. "Jim" Mahoney, 66, of Schaumburg, IL ,passed away on Wednesday, July 24 , 2024 surrounded by his immediate family after suffering cardiac arrest. James is survived by his wife of 39 years Josephine (nee Fiore), son James R. Mahoney, daughter Jamie (Niko) Amitrano, sister-in-law Sharon (nee Racutt) Mahoney, nephew John (Julie) Mahoney, niece Nicole (Jimmy) Jankowicz, and nephew Danny (Kaylen) Dorich. Born to James A. and Genevieve (nee Prasch) Mahoney, James was the oldest of three to the late John Mahoney and late Mary (nee Dorich) Mahoney. James was raised with a Catholic education in Franklin Park, IL, where he achieved Eagle Scout rank. An avid concert goer, James worked with his father at Motorola where he met Josephine. They married in 1985 and settled in Schaumburg, IL. James spent the second half of his career at Bell Flavors and Fragrances and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business from Roosevelt University. Upon retirement, James continued attending concerts, fishing at local lakes, watching the Cubs or the Bulls, or celebrating with his family at La Hacienda de Roselle. Visitation Sunday, August 4, 2024, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Rd., Bartlett, IL (please wear Chicago Cubs memorabilia in his honor).
