James Kolb

James P. Kolb, 78 of Elgin, IL died Sunday, October 13 ^th , 2024. Born July 9, 1946 in Chicago, IL. James grew up in LaGrange, IL and graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1965. Throughout his life he owned several businesses including a Shell Gas Station, Arlington Limousine, Your Limo, and also worked for the Village of Streamwood before moving to Durango, Colorado with his wife, Susie. They had a horse ranch and James later owned and operated Durango Equipment. Throughout his life, James enjoyed fishing, hunting, and stock car racing. He was known to tinker and was a good mechanic. He will be missed by his family.

He was survived by his children Brian (Sally) Kolb, Jeff Kolb, Tracey Neumann, and Renee (Paul) Kiel; grandchildren Jimmy (Natalie), Ema, Tyler, Kara, Chris, Paul, Tabitha, Steven, Alex and Addison; great grandchildren Christian, Collin, Chloe, Brayden and Riley; sisters Phyllis, Barbara, Darlene and brother Philip and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Susie, parents Philip and Zena Kolb, brother Paul and sister Corinne.

Cremation will be private at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory.
