James "Jim" Patrick Kelley, Sr. of Streamwood for 33 years. Visitation for Jim will be Monday 3:00-9:00 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.) Streamwood/Schaumburg. Services Tuesday 8:45 am to St. John the Evangelist Church. Funeral Mass 9:30 am. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Jim, 59, passed at home April 7, 2009 after a courageous 4 year battle with cancer. Jim was born July 7, 1949 in Chicago to Thomas and Rita Kelley. Jim was a proud and devoted father of 3 and a grandpa of one. A true Marine who served in Viet Nam, receiving 2 Purple Hearts and other commendations. Jim has worked at EMHC for the past 13 years. Jim leaves his wife Gwen whom he married July 22, 1972; children Rita, Jim (Melina) and Robert and one precious granddaughter, Madyson Kelley. One brother, Tom (Cathie) Kelley; Sisters, Ginger (Bob) Anderson, Jane (George) Dornseif, Barb (Don) Baskin, 5 nieces and 5 nephews. Many loving cousins. Jim also left great friends and co-workers who have been his support system for his long 4-year battle. Jim is proceeded in death by his parents.
