James F. Farrell Jr.,71, of Streamwood, died Friday, May 22, 2009, in Hoffman Estates.
Born February 14, 1938, in St. Clair Shores, Michigan
He was the Beloved husband of Lois nee Walston; Loving father of Kathleen Farrell, Michael (Tracy), and Patrick Farrell; Cherished grandfather of Jamie (Eric), Justin, Michael, Taylor, Zach, Nicholas, Kyle, and Shelby and Great grandfather of Ava; Dear brother of John (Barbara), Judy (Bob) McDevitt, Stephanie (Bob) Sedillo, and the late Joan.
James was a Marine Corps veteran serving in Vietnam and an active member of Immanuel UCC.
He was the first full time fireman in Streamwood serving for 28 yrs and served as the Administrative Assistant to the chief in Roselle Fire Department for 12 years he also taught fire training classes at Elgin Community College. He loved to travel in his motor home. James was helpful to all and the rock of the family.
Visitation Tuesday from 3:00 p.m -9:00 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd, (at Barrington Rd) Streamwood. Lying in State Wednesday, 10:30 am until time of service 11:00 am at Immanuel UCC, 1500 Old Church Rd. Streamwood, IL. Interment Lakewood Memorial Park.
