James Duncan

September 25, 1964 — April 12, 2025

James (Jim) Joseph Duncan passed away peacefully at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago on April 12, 2025, at the age of 60.

Jim was born in Columbia, Missouri, on September 25, 1964, and lived in Bartlett. He was a beloved father, brother and son, as well as a talented musician and a dedicated financial advisor for Edward Jones. He made a lasting impact on the Bartlett community – first by coaching his son’s soccer teams and, later, through his shows at local bars and music venues throughout the area.

An excellent singer, guitar and trumpet player, Jim had a passion for creating and performing music. He wrote and recorded his first album, “Just for One Day,” which was released in 2022. Jim was a proud Chicago Bears season ticket holder, and also enjoyed golfing, fly fishing with his brother, and a good beer (or two). He often gave back by playing shows to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Association.

He is survived by parents, Christine Downey and Jim (Linda) Duncan; children, Sean (Taylor) Duncan, Erin Rossini and Grey Lucas; brother, Geoffrey (Holly) Duncan; and grandchildren, Reagan and Callum Duncan.
