James Dai
November 1, 1949 — May 3, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we share, James H. Dai, 75, of Schaumburg, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
James was a loving husband to Grace (Chan) Dai, proud father to Brandon (Rachel) Dai and Ryan Dai, and a loving grandfather to Alexander and Sofia Dai. He was a caring brother to George (Luna) Dai and Harry (Tara) Dai, and a supportive brother-in-law to Marilyn Dai. He will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Born on November 1, 1949, in Chicago to Ser Jew and Choy Ping Dai, James was known for his gentle spirit, quiet strength, and truly selfless nature. He was someone who always put others first, offering his time, love, and support without hesitation.
James had a deep love of music—especially The Beatles—and found joy in sharing his favorite songs and lyrics. He also had a lifelong appreciation for animals and wildlife, and his compassion extended to all living things. Whether cheering on his favorite sports teams or enjoying time with his grandchildren, James brought warmth, kindness, and a calming presence to every moment.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd., Streamwood. Info
