James Alterio Jr. of Elgin, Services for James Alterio Jr. will begin with prayers at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, at Countryside Funeral Home, 95 S. Gilbert St. (at Middle St.), South Elgin, and proceed to St. Mary Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home. James was the beloved husband of Marie (nee Matz); loving father of Jeffrey (Christine), Jennifer (Brett) Van Donsel and Jessica (David) Sus; cherished grandfather of Lucas, John, Stephanie and George; dear son of the late James and Josephine (nee Bruno); and fond brother of Michael (Patricia) Alterio.
