Jacob Smiley

Jacob Robert "Jake" Smiley, 23, of South Elgin, passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 29. An avid Cubs fan, Jake played baseball at St. Charles North High School class of 2012 and was a student at UW Whitewater scheduled to graduate May 2017 to pursue a career in social work fulfilling his passion to help others. Loving son of Robert and Cindy(nee Madsen); adored brother of Ben, Hannah, and Josh; cherished grandson of Bob and Bonnie Madsen and Jan and the late Gerald Smiley; dear nephew of Vince(Wendy), Jim(Shannon), Dave(Sue), and Julie Smiley and Julie(Mitch) Mead; fond cousin of Russell, Jessica, Michael, Amanda, Nick, Jack, Aiden, Jenna, Jaden, Ross, Alex, Claire, Kelly, and Jeffrey. Visitation Sunday, April 2 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Rd.(at Stearns Rd.), Bartlett. Funeral Monday 11:00am. Interment South Elgin Cemetery.
