John “Jack” Gomes, 89, of Lake in the Hills formerly Bartlett, died Sunday, April 20, 2025. Born February 15, 1936, in Chicago. Jack was the owner and pharmacist of Archer Drugs from 1977 to 2002 in Aurora. He enjoyed golfing and photography, but his biggest passion was always his family. Beloved husband of 60 years to Lois; loving dad of Kevin (Gigi) Gomes and Kathryn (Aaron) Gentry; cherished grandpa of Zack (Kristin), Jake (Kelsie), Luke, Sam, Emma and Jack; dear son of the late Elmer Sr and Lilian Gomes; kind brother of the late Elmer Jr (Wilma) Gomes and uncle of Donna (Sean) and the late David. Visitation 2:00pm until time of service 4:00pm Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd, Bartlett. Following services, cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org , would be appreciated.
