Iris Stark

Iris Stark, 89 of Hoffman Estates, formerly of Streamwood, passed on Monday July 7 of natural causes. She was born in Chicago on July 13, 1935 to Rudolph and Catherine (Brandt) Smosna. Iris was married to the love of her life Irving C. Stark on September 10, 1955 and they celebrated 59 years of marriage before he passed in 2014.



Iris was a great cook and liked travel and slot machines but she was most proud of her family. She often hosted holidays and special events and kept current on news about the kids, grandkids and extended relatives. She worked many years at Motorola in Schaumburg before retiring in 1986. After raising four children in Streamwood, she and Irving moved to Elgin with a seasonal home in Florida durng their retirement years.



She was preceded in death by her three sisters and a brother and her husband Irving. Survivors include son Stephen (Toni) Stark, daughters Linda Stark, Kathleen (Mitchell) Pinsky, and Sharon Kniece. Grandchildren Gregory, Jason, Kelli, and Rachael; great grandchildren Serenity, Grace and Keeley.



Visitation will be held at Countryside Funeral Home in Streamwood, 1640 S. Greenmeadows Bld. on Sunday July 13 from 4-8pm with a short memorial service at 6pm.
