Irene Levander

Funeral Services for Irene C. Levander, 79 of Hoffman Estates since 1962, will be held Monday 10:00a.m. at Calvary Community Church 1000 S. Springinsguth Rd., Schaumburg where she will lie in state from 9:30a.m. until time of service. Visitation will be held Sunday 3:00-7:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.) Streamwood/Schaumburg. Interment Ridgewood.
She is the beloved wife of John; loving mother of Carolyn Ruth (Bruce) Lauer of Troy, WI, John A. (Kris) of South Elgin, Marolyn June (Douglas) Henrickson of South Elgin, Saralyn Irene (David) Richards of Mundelein and James Peter (Becky) of Nairobi, Kenya; proud grandmother of 15 with one on the way; dear sister of June Elizabeth Anderson.
Irene was born in Chicago and attended First Covenant Church. After marriage and moving to Hoffman Estates, she and husband John were charter members of Schaumburg Covenant Church. For the last thirty years they have been active, strong members of Calvary Community Church in Schaumburg. She worked with AWANA clubs for many years including 13 as co-director of Cubbies for Calvary Community Church; having lasting influences in the lives of many children. Irene was a member of Gideons International Auxiliary and music and singing to her Lord and Savior, with her sister, June or later years with her family and church, has been one of the great joys of her life.
