Visitation for Iona H. Branch nee Holloway of Morton Grove, formerly of Northside Chicago will be held Thursday August 23, 2012 3:00 - 9:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Homes and Crematory 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.) Streamwood/Schaumburg. Friday lying is state 9:00a.m. until time of service 10:00a.m. at Our Redeemer's United Methodist Church 1600 W. Schaumburg Rd. Schaumburg. Private Interment.
Iona passed away in the early morning of August 18, 2012.
Iona was born on January 20, 1912 in Watseka, IL to Artemis Holloway and Olena Morrison Holloway. She was the third of six children: Gertrude Lloyd, Inoa, Neva, Clarence and Elsie all of whom have preceded her in death.
Iona married Jake Fleming Branch in 1938; they had two children: Melvin Alan, whom marreid Patricia and had one son, Jake and a daughter Tracy who died at age 1; Marilyn Ella Branch whom married Leo Joseph Gac, Jr. and had 2 sons: Jason Todd married Laura Schoenwolf and Nathan Lee whom married Kristen Witwicki and have 2 daughters, Katelyn Rose and Kelly Ann Gac.
She is survived by her daughter Marilyn, Her son-in-law Leo Joseph Gac, Jr. - her grandsons: Jake Branch, Jason Gac, Nathan Gac and his wife Kristen; as well as her two great granddaughters Katelyn Rose and Kelly Ann Gac and many nieces, nephews, grand and great grand nieces and nephews.(630) 289-8054 or www.countrysidefuneralhomes.com.
