Helmut Korp, 86, beloved husband of Berta for 60 years, fond brother of the late Michael, Willi, Walter, and Herta, loving father to Helmut and Peter (Catherine) and cherished Opa of Christina, Nicole and Jeannine passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018.

Helmut was born in May 1931, in Hermannstadt (Sibiu), Romania but persevered in emigrating with his entire family from Romania to the United States in the pursuit of freedom and a better life. He worked in Chicago as a machinist and tool & die worker until he went to enjoy his golden years in retirement with his family.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 4th, from 3:00-8:00pm, with a prayer service at 6:00pm at the Countryside Funeral Home, 950 South Bartlett Rd., Bartlett, IL. followed by a burial service Monday, March 5th at Union Cemetery in St. Charles at 12:00 PM.
