Helen Monaghen

Helen “Joan” Monaghen (nee Ernst), 81, of Streamwood, died Monday, December 4, 2017. Born October 23, 1936 in Chicago. Joan enjoyed reading, puzzles, playing cards and going out to a sit-down meal but her true passions were her faith and her family. Beloved wife of the late James; loving mom of Sue (Bob) Cessna, Jim (Kelly), Paula (Larry) Blonski and the late Marybeth; cherished grandma of Matthew, Hayley, Shannon and grand dog Bodhi; caring great grandma of one due in March; kind daughter of late Paul and Helen (nee Keavney) Ernst; dear sister of Paul (Kay) Ernst, Pat (late Avid) Callsen and the late Donald; kind sister-in-law of Aggie Ernst; loving aunt to many. Visitation 3:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 S Greenmeadows Blvd (at Barrington Rd), Streamwood/Schaumburg. Funeral Saturday 9:15a.m. to St John the Evangelist Church, Mass 10:00a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials to the church, www.mystjohns.org, would be appreciated.
