Graveside Services for Helen Kunz nee Zyms of Rockford will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 11:00a.m. at Arlington Memorial Cemetery 6202 Charles St. Rockford 61108.
Born May 24, 1922 in Paterson, NJ, daughter of Stanis and Freida Zyms nee Foeller. Married William Joseph Kunz on Sept. 9th, 1945 in Tappan, NY. Employed during World War II by the Netherlands-Java Shipping Line which transported vital raw materials to the U.S. from various Asian-Pacific ports.
Moved to Rockford in 1953 from Rockland County New York State. Employed as a personal banker at Alpine Bank, Central National Bank and United Bank of Illinois in Rockford from 1967 to 1983. Charter Member of Christ United Methodist Church in Rockford. Co-authored the book "Third and Ten 3rd Inf. Div. - WWII"
She is survived by her daughters Nancy (John) Neuner, Susan (Dan) Bunce, 4 grandchildren Jonathon (Rhonda) Pritikin, Erin Bunce, Mark (Heidi) Bunce and Jennifer Neuner, 4 great grandchildren Jaden Pritikin, Noah, Lucas and Lillian Bunce.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents and husband William.
