Helen Krohn
August 31, 1927 — January 13, 2022
Helen M. Krohn (nee Riemer) passed away peacefully January 13, 2022 at the age of 94. Formerly of New Lenox, most recently residing in The Oaks of Bartlett. She is survived by her children Jane (Paul) Majewski of Hoffman Estates; Susan (Michael) Kunce of Seneca, SC; JoAnn (John) Kneynsberg of Bessemer, AL; and Gary (Fran) Krohn of Bartlett; along with eleven Grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her sister-in-law Betty Riemer.
She is proceeded in death by her loving husband of 69 years Gene Krohn. Her parents Elda and August Riemer, her brothers George, Raymond and Donald Riemer and sister Ruth Riemer.
Helen was a lifelong Lutheran, attending services at Trinity Lutheran in New Lenox, Immanuel Lutheran in Mokena, and Prince of Peace Lutheran in Largo, FL. She spent many years teaching Sunday school and Bible school. Helen was also a Girl Scout leader for her daughters and Room Mother for her son. She enjoyed sewing for her family, crocheting, baking (always keeping cookies on hand), playing cards (pinochle and Skip-Bo were favorites), doing word search, and making yearly Christmas ornaments for all to enjoy.
Services and interment at Maplewood Cemetery in New Lenox will be held at a later date.
