Hal M. Bascomb of Schaumburg; born 11/20/1926 in Hammond, IN, died 4/10/2011 in Barrington, IL; dearest husband of Joan nee Pontius; loving dad of Pamela (the late Charles) Kemph of Schaumburg, Carol (David) Schumann of Schaumburg and Richard of Schaumburg; cherished grandfather of Kari (fiancé, Scott Madden) Schumann and Kelsey Schumann, dear friend of Earnest Mims and fond brother-in-law of Roy Hoffmann . Hal proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII; he loved to read, paint, sculpt and do wood-working; Hal played several instruments including piano, guitar and drums and faithfully did volunteer work with the Du Page County Convalescent Center. Visitation Wednesday 3:00-9:00 PM at the Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.) Streamwood/Schaumburg. Funeral Services Thursday 10:30 AM Our Redeemer United Methodist Church 1600 W. Schaumburg Rd., Schaumburg. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
