Gregory Martin Goerger, a beloved resident of Bartlett, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 15th, 2026, at the age of 39. Born on May 5th, 1987, in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Greg was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend who impacted the lives of many with his gentle spirit and kind heart.
Greg leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his devoted parents, Mark and Renee Goerger; his brother, Adam Goerger, and sister-in-law, Lauren Embs. Greg was also a loving and caring uncle to his niece, Audrey June. He was a dear grandson, nephew, and cousin to many who were fortunate to share in his life and laughter.
Greg was a passionate and vibrant soul with a wide array of interests that truly defined his life. A golf enthusiast, he enjoyed every aspect of the game, and his love for sports was evident, particularly in his unwavering support for the Chicago Bears. Greg was an avid animal lover and a proud Dog Dad to his furry companions Penny, Nutmeg, Ivy, Nellie, Rouf, and Daisy, as well as a Cat Dad to Miso, Milo, Balou, and Lucky.
Known for his incredible skill in solving puzzles, Greg also delighted in the world of video games, with a special affection for the Zelda series. His love for learning, with a primary interest in science and the cosmos, was a testament to his inquisitive nature and enthusiasm for advocating knowledge.
Another of Greg's great joys was music. Those fortunate enough to hear him sing knew of his remarkable voice, though he shared it only with a select few. His capacity for caring and helping others was a hallmark of his life, embodying the gentle and nurturing soul he truly was.
Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory, 950 S. Bartlett Rd. Bartlett, IL, where they will remember and honor Greg's remarkable spirit and the joy he brought into their lives.
Gregory Martin Goerger's legacy of kindness, love, and joy will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. His memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to The Gateway Foundation or to the ASPCA
