Our cherished father and beloved Abuelo, reunited with his beloved wife, Maria Cruz Campos, and their son Rene "Joe" Campos in heaven Tuesday evening.
Gonzalo's life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and devotion. Gonzalo was a constant presence in the lives of his grandchildren, always there to support and encourage them in their endeavors. His presence at their sports games, recitals, and milestones was a beacon of his deep love and commitment. He is survived by his 7 remaining kids, Ben (Julie) Campos, Leo Campos, Roselia Campos, Mina Campos, Cruz Campos, Gonzalo Jr. (Stacey) Campos, RC (JR) Hutson. Beloved dog Paloma. His adored grandkids, Jessica (Omar), Chris, Diana (Jean Carlos), Edwin, Richie, Johnny (Malina), Adam (Ana), Adrianna, Anthony, Brenda, Alexis (Chris), Steven, Giovannie, Lexi (Ben), Sydney, Gabby, Charlee, Lorena, Noemi (Cristian), Amelia, Celeste, Alejandra, Gregory (Blanca), and great grandkids, Carlos, Jazmin, Miranda, Preston, Julian, Elaya, Dahlia, Emilio, Esme, Aurora, and Gregory Jr., Rosalie.
To our Dad, thank you for the life you and mom gave us. To our Abuelo, thank you for loving all of us and showing up for us. Our Abuelo will be missed, but we will carry on his legacy.
Though he may be gone from our sight, Gonzalo's spirit will live on in the memories he created and the love he shared. May he rest in peace, reunited with his beloved wife and son for eternity.
Visitation Sunday, April 14, 3:00pm - 9:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd (at Barrington Road) Streamwood. Funeral service Sunday, 5:00pm. Following services cremation will be private at Countryside Crematory.
