It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gina Marie Wood (nee Stramaglia). Anyone who knew Gina knew how much her five daughters and adoring husband meant to her. She was their everything and never let them question how deeply they were loved. Gina encouraged her girls to live ambitious lives, was proud of all they accomplished, and served as their loudest and most devoted cheerleader. She wasn’t just their mom—“Geen” was their best friend. Her daughters will always cherish memories of her love for decorating the yard, the house, or the dinner table for every holiday and celebration. Gina leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and creativity that her daughters will carry on forever.
Gina shared her love of travel with her best friend and husband, Tom. Together, they road tripped across the country in pursuit of visiting all 50 states, falling just three short—New Mexico, Arizona, and Delaware—on a technicality, as Gina insisted a state only counted if you spent the night. When they weren’t off exploring the country, Gina and Tom treasured their weekly date nights, cherishing the life they built together. Tom was her greatest love.
When Gina was not with her daughters or Tom, she was supporting, loving, and spending time with her sisters and friends. Gina treasured people the way she treasured seashells and rocks—admiring their beauty and loving their imperfections.
Gina devoted 27 years to her career at Home Depot, approaching her work with the same dedication and heart she brought to all she did. A committed volunteer and caretaker at heart, Gina cared for everyone who crossed her path, leaving a lasting impact on every community she touched.
While the world was brighter with her in it, her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace. Look for signs of her love—she is already sending them.
Gina is survived by her loving husband Thomas Olson, adoring daughters Christina Marie (John) Gehrke, Deanna Marie Cromar, Staci Ann Marie (Tim) Corr, Stefani Marie (Phil) Vaca, and Alexis Marie (Matt) Schmidt. She was the favorite sister of Susan (Dinah) Steinmiller, Michaele (Pete) Cazares, Antoinette Karris, and Elizabeth J. Stramaglia; Gma Honey to Charlotte, Maci, Aiden, Logan, Milo, and (soon-to-be) Baby “Gino”; fond aunt of Anthony, Phil (Elvis), Bobby (Erica), Mikey, Joey (Vicki), Nicky, and Sean. She is now in paradise with her late parents Anthony P. Stramaglia and Elizabeth L. Stramaglia.
Her services will be held on Monday, April 6 from 3:00pm – 9:00pm with a special celebration of life at 7:00pm. In lieu of wearing black, please brighten the room by wearing something that reminds you of Gina.
