Mass of Christian Burial for Geraldine "Geri" Salach nee Supela will be held Thursday, September 23, 2021 at St. Marcelline Church 822 S. Springinsguth Rd. Schaumburg. Mass 10:00a.m. Following mass, cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory.
Geraldine is the beloved mother of Kathleen (Ronald) Loch and Susan (Rev. Paul Cutler) Salach-Cutler; loving grandmother of Madeline and Adam Loch, Josh, Aaron and Meagan Cutler; dear sister of the late Josephine Supela.
Some people are just born to be Mom’s. They have some kind of special DNA which makes them innately more gifted at the job than others. Geri was one of those women born to be a mom. She loved her family with every ounce of her being. If asked how she was doing, she would tell of the accomplishments of her daughters, grandchildren, and sons-in-laws without mentioning herself. Her love and support were the cornerstone of her family.
A hero to her family, she faced the obstacles that life threw at her with strength and dignity and taught her family the meaning of unconditional love.
Life lessons she taught her family
• A note of encouragement can make a huge difference in someone’s day.
• Always show up for others (even if you don’t think they deserve it).
• Make family a priority.
• Family and forgiveness go hand-in-hand.
• Keep moving forward even when it’s hard.
• Unconditional love cannot be earned, it is given freely whether or not you think the other person deserves it.
• Encouragement is a gift you can give to anyone at any time.
• If someone doesn’t like you or want to be your friend, it’s their loss not yours.
She gave her love, support, and encouragement freely. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
