Gerald Mullins

Gerald (Jerry) Joseph Mullins, passed away at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove on Monday April 27, 2020 at the age of 80. Jerry was born the oldest of 13 children to William Mullins and Ruth (Doerr) Mullins on June 1, 1939 in Chicago Illinois.

In his teen years, he met and fell in love with Marlene (nee Czeszewski). Jerry and Marlene were married for over 60 years and had 4 children, Brian Mullins (MaryAnn), Keith Mullins (Linda), Sean Mullins (Laura) and Mary Harbach (Scott).

His life continued to be blessed with his grandchildren; Mallory Rocke, Cory Mullins, Sarah Mullins, Brianna Mullins, Erin Pagliari, Kelly Harbach and Meghan Harbach. He was further blessed with his great-grandchildren; Willow Rocke, Ellie, Dawson, Bentley and Tinley Pagliari.

After 36 years of employment Jerry retired from Deluxe Check Printers which started his love for biking. After retirement Jerry was instrumental in coordinating Taste of Roselle activities for over ten years.

He will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor, his yearly 4th of July celebrations and his love for Lake Michigan, lighthouses and the Atlantic Ocean.

Jerry served proudly for 6 years in the National Guard.

The family would like to thank Dr. Glick for all the care he provided to Jerry throughout the last 20 years. In addition, they would like to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses at St. Alexian Brothers who showed him love and comfort during his hospital stay.

Jerry is preceded in death by his granddaughter Sarah, his mother and father and five siblings.

A gathering in honor of Jerry will be held at a later date.

Donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis Tennessee.
