The Celebration of the life of Gerald R. Andersen of Elgin, formerly of Bartlett for 35 years will begin Thursday 4:00 - 9:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.) Bartlett. Funeral Friday 11:00a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
Born Feb. 14, 1924 in Oak Park, IL, Jerry died peacefully July 18, 2011.
A WWII Army veteran, he was captured in Italy during the war and spent 15 months in Germany as a POW.
He is the beloved husband of 54 years of Marylou nee Cook; loving father of Geri (Don) Hosler of Cape Coral, FL and Scott of Bartlett; cherished grandfather of Phillip (Marta), Patrick (Jessica) and Daniel (Loren)Hosler; proud great grandfather of Caili, Aidan, Amelie, James, Michael and Ethan; many loving friends, especially Will, Erika and Tim.
