Funeral services for Georgene A. Geils (nee Rossiter), will be Wednesday, 10:30am at the Countryside Funeral Home 333 S. Roselle Road (1/2 mile South of Irving Park Road), Roselle. interment Mount Emblem Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday, August 2, from 3:00pm to 9:00pm
She was the beloved wife of the late Wallace H. Geils for 46 years. Loving mother of Keith Geils, Cori Rizzo, Gayle (Carl) Marsh, Heidi Geils, and Gretchen (Bill) Schrader; Proud grandmother of Wendy (Al) Kunish, Wayne (Debbie) Geils, Lisa and Will Schrader, Brian (Kelly) Rizzo, and the late Michael Rizzo; Cherished great grandmother of Sydney Geils.
Born April 25, 1928 Georgene died July 30, 2011, she had lived in Bloomingdale since 1958.
Georgene was a very active member of St. Paul Evangelical United Church of Christ since 1958, participating mostly as a director of the children’s choir. She was also a long time owner of Econo-Mart; Georgene was constantly active in the Village of Bloomingdale’s Historical Society Business Promotion Community and was the first recipient of the “Business Woman of the Year” award which is now given in her honor. She enjoyed playing the piano, organ and singing for weddings, funerals, and at church. Georgene loved elephants and was an avid collector of various elephant trinkets.
