George B. Larsen, age 81, of Streamwood, Illinois, passed away peacefully in his home on October 20, 2026. He was born in Chicago on February 20, 1945, and married the light of his life, Carol Standley, in February, 1966.
Over the years, George loved working on cars, racing at Sycamore Speedway, camping with his family, building things, and gardening, especially growing ridiculously hot peppers. George had a gruff exterior, but those who knew him understood his way of showing care.
He is survived by his children: Carie Partin and her husband James of West Point, Mississippi; Denise Martin and her husband Scott of Conway, South Carolina; and Jeffery Larsen and his wife Michelle of Streamwood, Illinois. He leaves behind grandchildren Joseph Kramer, Brandon Porstner, and Christopher Porstner, as well as his brother Robert and sister-in-law Linda, and many dear nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, parents George and Suzanne Larsen, sister, Sue Killian, and brothers, John, Richard and Tommy.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Oct. 23 at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery on Algonquin Rd in Palatine where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved Carol.
