George Crofton

January 16, 1934 — January 27, 2023

George Andrew Crofton, 89 passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023. George was born in Chicago, the only child of Nadine Karwowski (nee: Wyatt), however he had many aunts, uncles and cousins in downstate Illinois. He was the proud father of two children, Pamela Nadine Berlin, Richard Kendrick Crofton (Yvonne Novak) and one granddaughter, Nicole Lee Berlin (Ben Crowther).

George met and married Betty Lee Crofton (nee: Brashear) in Chicago in 1955. After thirty years, George retired from Encyclopedia Britannica.

Services will be private.

The family wishes to thank the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff at Alexian Brothers Medical Center and Ascension Hospice Residence.
